Victor Uliyanich (1956) was born in Ukraine, in the town of Snezhnoye, Donetsk region. He received there his first musical education (musical school). Then he entered and graduated from Moscow Institute for Physic and Technology at the department of radio engineering and cybernetics.
In 1983 he graduated from Gnessins' musical pedagogical Institute where he studied composition with G.Dmitriev and G.Tchernov.
Finished the postgraduate course of the USSR Science Academy Computer Centre, made scientific research in the field of musical-computer technologies.
V. Uliyanich is the member of Moscow Composers' Union Board, constant participant of "Moscow autumn" festival. He is Honoured worker of arts of the Russia, Professor of Russian academy of music named after Gnessins', laureate of Moscow Administration Award and "Victor Salvi Prize — 2004". He was granted Diploma and Golden Medal named after Pushkin.
His compositional activities are combined with pedagogic and scientist. V. Uliyanich is one of the leading Russian specialists in the sphere of computer music.
From 1991 he teaches composition at the Chair of Composition and Instrumentation (Russian academy of music named after Gnessins'). In 2001 a Chair of Computer Music and Acoustics was founded at the Academy and Uliyanich became is first head of the Chair. He is also one of the founders of "Russian harp society" and chairman of organizing committee of 'The Russian art of harp performance" festival. |
