Semen Segal was born in 1971 in the city of Alma-Ata in Kazakhstan. He finished a music school where he learned to play the violin (1986); then he graduated from the Alma-Ata music college where he majored in the theory of music (1990). In the same year he moved to Moscow, where hr became a church choir conductor in St. Demetrius the prince Church at the 1-st city hospital.
From 1992 till 1997 he studied at St.Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological University where he majored in precentorship and singing. Upon graduation from the University he entered the Moscow conservatory where he majored in composition. He was taught by G.Vorontsov and G.Butsko. In 2001 he graduated from the conservatory, and in 2004 he was accepted as the members of the composers of Russia Union.
At present he combines his service as a precent and his creative activity. |
